The international community should persuade Israel to end its aggression against the Palestinian people

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has called on the international community to persuade Israel to end its aggression against the Palestinian people and take concrete steps to find a solution to the Palestinian problem. The Foreign Minister arrived in New York to attend an emergency meeting of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) convened by the Palestinian Peace Mission and to condemn Israeli aggression by the OIC and the Arab League.
Pakistan has joined hands with Palestine, Sudan and Turkey to take a joint stand in the General Assembly. It should be noted that this will be the first UN meeting after the outbreak of COD 19 in which the foreign ministers of the member countries will personally participate While all previous meetings were virtual, Shah Mehmood Qureshi hosted a working dinner of OIC foreign ministers shortly after his arrival to discuss the situation in Palestine.
Addressing the dinner, the Foreign Minister said that we hope that the UNGA meeting will send a strong message at the dinner to take concrete steps to end Israeli aggression and find a solution to the Palestinian problem. The situation and the modalities for a unanimous and unwavering response from OIC member states before the UNGA meeting were highlighted.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevl کاt ووavuگoلےlu, Palestinian Foreign Minister Vayaz al-Maliki, Tunisian Foreign Minister Usman Jarandi and General Assembly President Vulcan Bozkar attended the dinner. The use of discriminatory force has infuriated the entire Muslim Ummah. He strongly condemned Israeli actions, saying that Israeli aggression had resulted in the loss of many innocent lives, including women and children. He noted that Israel had deliberately targeted Palestinian worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan. And had carried out organized attacks which violated the sanctity of the sanctuary.
He also condemned Israel's policy of expanding illegal settlements, as well as forcibly evicting Palestinians and demolishing their homes at the same time. The Foreign Minister thanked all OIC member states for their support to Pakistan. As well as played an active role in convening a special session of the UN General Assembly. A statement issued by the United Nations Mission in Pakistan said that the Foreign Minister's visit to New York was part of Pakistan's diplomatic reach to mobilize international support for ending the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.
The Foreign Minister will address a special session of the UN General Assembly and highlight Pakistan's position on the issue. Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Munir Akram and Pakistan's Ambassador to Washington Dr. Asad Majeed Khan also hosted the dinner. The UN General Assembly session attended by the United States has come after an international effort to secure a ceasefire in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Earlier, the United States had obstructed UN ceasefire efforts.
For the third time in a week, the United States has blocked a joint UN Security Council (UNSC) statement calling for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinians. General Antonio Guterres also called for an end to "unwarranted" violence in the Middle East.
"The fighting must stop, it must stop immediately. Rocket and mortar bombardment on the one hand and aerial and artillery bombardment on the other must be stopped. I urge all parties to comply with this demand," he said. Yesterday, a UN aid agency called for an immediate ceasefire so that humanitarian aid could be delivered to the victims. As many as 30,000 children have been displaced in the Occupied Palestinian Territories since May 10, according to the head of UNICEF.
